Saints On The Street

The homeless are not failures in the eyes of cosmic intelligence. What if the downtrodden, homeless “wastes of space” that need removing, are of divine service to all of humanity? What if through hitting rock bottom these souls have no choice but to transcend their minds and bodies - and in the painful process of doing so - create an expansion in consciousness?

Spiritual Bypassing

What is Spiritual Bypassing? Here are some fictional examples that I made up to illustrate how spiritual practices and concepts can be misunderstood or used to avoid taking the required action. Spirituality is common sense and sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is paying the bills, getting the groceries, going to the doctor, finding a job, embracing negative emotions and even getting divorced or taking the meds!

Psychedelics are on the rise and many people are using them on their spiritual journeys however a yogi does not need psychedelics because they are psychedelics. Some yogis are psychedelics without any formal meditation practice, however that is rare. If meditation works…YOU become the drug!

Die While You're Alive

So what does it mean to die while you’re alive? Well it’s very easy to live and be happy when everything is ok, but what happens when the business crashes, the partner leaves, the movie flops, the child dies, the doctor gives you bad news, the repressed memories surface, the coping mechanisms fail, etc, etc, etc; a part of you must die to make sense of the world, and for you to have the energy to continue living.

Serpents & Spirituality Entwine

Today is Nag Panchami an auspicious day for India, the Naga tribe and snake lovers. When I think of snakes they bring me to tears, not because of fear and loathing, but because of the depth of feeling, respect and reverence that arises. My first transcendental experience happened at an early age when I looked into the eyes of my pet python; dark, alert and mysterious they were cosmic black holes that sucked me in.  I’ve always been magnetically drawn to snakes in an unexplainable way. When I was about 6 years old and traveling by bus with my family on a dusty back road on the outskirts of Bangalore, I saw a gigantic snake out the window…overwhelmed with excitement I screamed ‘STOP!’ The bus halted and I ran out and proceeded to touch the snake, much to the despair of my concerned mother. Luckily the snake did not harm me. So why do people react so strongly to snakes, either with fear or  mesmerization? Here are some interesting shares:

Bringing Sexy Back To Spirituality

Can you be spiritual and sexy? Or is that not allowed! Let’s open up that convo. As a former sex symbol and heart-throb I surrender myself to the fire of this discussion 🔥 no burning me at the stake though 🙏 When I was transitioning from the film and fashion industry (after an awakening) into the world of therapy and meditation I noticed an internal pressure to change my appearance. Those bikini pics on the internet need to come down, how inappropriate, I temporarily thought. When people ‘Googled’ my name, the first thing that came up was ‘hot’ not ‘spiritual’.

Just Be Yourself

What are you into that other people tell you is weird? Is it train spotting, piercings, spiders, knitting, juggling, puppetry, ghost hunting? Personally I’m into snakes, partially due to my Naga lineage, but mainly because they are The Bomb! Come on, they are the dragons of the earth. They teach so much; I won’t go into it in this post, but will share in the future.

Wear what you want and be free

Sometimes I wear a bindi and sari because they are beautiful and because they are a part of my Indian culture, however these items are not inherent to my timeless being. Sometimes I wear an animal suit too, depends on how cold it is, lol. Anyway, forget about looking for 'spiritual credibility indicators' and wear what you want...you are a timeless being. EVERYBODY IS TIMELESS.

Surrender To Awareness

It’s time to shine a light on a hidden internal conflict that destroys our lives; the mind versus our awareness. There is a struggle between what we feel, and what we believe we should feel. On one side we feel fear, anxiety, jealousy and anger; on the other side we feel ashamed and try to push these emotions away. This is the realm of the ego which tries to represses the parts of us that it deems ‘unacceptable’.

How to be Naturally Confident

Once we realize who we truly are we become confident. When we realize that we are much greater than transient thoughts and emotions our power emerges. Our thoughts change depending on how much sleep we have had, what food we have eaten and how much stress is in our environment. If we mistakenly identify only with the realm of thoughts, which are forever changing, we are constantly thrown up and down
