Profound Questions from Clients

Here are some examples of shares and existential questions from people who have hit rock bottom and who are in a process of Self Realization. All names are changed for confidentiality.

Peter a war veteran with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and survivor's guilt arrived in my office after seeing my picture on Psychology Today; he said:

“I had to see you because I saw your picture…I shot and killed a woman who looked just like you….now I plan to kill myself; I sensed I should see you before I end it all”.

* After one year of therapy and learning Transcendental Meditation (TM) Peter became Self Realized, recovered from PTSD and is happily married. He now radiates a caring, loving presence and feels like family. We have a non-verbal connection and sometimes know what is going on with one another.

Dwayne, an in-patient at a Malibu addiction rehab stayed after one of my meditation groups and said:

“I’ve seen so many psychiatrists and they all tell me I have “this disorder” and “that disorder”, what is the point of living anymore if I’m so permanently damaged and  f@#$d. Tell me, am I ever going to change?”.

* A sacred space opened up as we spoke about neuro-plasticity (the mind's ability to change) and I saw Dwayne deeply, BEYOND ALL OF HIS LABELS, he then suddenly stated: “NOBODY CAN STEAL MY JOY”. He left the rehab that week and remained drug free.

Vishnavi the psychic shared:

“I’m not built for this world so I exit it. My psychic abilities started as a child because of all the physical abuse…I had to go, to exist in another realm…that was 20 years ago…I’m not sure I ever returned. Can I come back into my body and live a normal life?”.

* Vishnavi does daily yoga and physical exercise to ground her in her body combined with therapy.  She now only occasionally sees me when she gets swept up in her head.

Matt the A-List actor confided:

“I’m a fraud! ever since I won the award I can’t act anymore. Everyone on set gathers around to see me act, expecting some amazing performance; I’m sick of all this b!@## pressure,  I’m freezing on set, can’t remember my lines, getting panic attacks and drinking …I  just want to give up and die”.

* Matt, through mindful meditation, learned how to allow uncomfortable emotions to pass through his body, stopped drinking and still acts.

Ali the billionaire said:

“I’ve never had a real relationship and how can I? I’m addicted to sleeping with hot high class call girls who will do anything I want. Lately I sleep with 6 per night, sometimes all at the same time and tell them what to do. How can I go from all this stimulation to a normal woman? Am I going to die alone?”

With therapy, listening to my YouTube meditations and going on a men's retreat Ali  recovered from his sex addiction and now has a girlfriend that he is deeply in love with and plans to marry.

And there are countless other stories of people who have hit rock bottom, found the tools to suit them, survived and became more resilient and even Self realized. Don’t give up!
